A nice short story that knows what it's out to accomplish and it accomplishes admirably well, without much in the way of extra fat.

Despite being just a snippet of a normal day in the protagonist's mundane life, the story is significant and engaging because it has a point that it never loses sight of. Pretty much everything in the setup is in service of that one unifying message.

There really isn't much that needs improvement here. I do think the story does feel a bit impactless as it is, it could have used a bit more time to leave more of an impression. But for what it is, it works admirably well. I do feel like the banter between the two main characters becomes a bit tedious very quickly, but that's just me (and also, Kip being annoying is true to the way he is characterized).
