Novel use of third-person aside, game is somewhat confusing to control despite the excellent tank controls, and the initial tutorial message failed to pop up, leaving me to wander around and collect trash (the player character is a janitor), until finally getting lost enough that the message triggered. Furthermore, the story is very chiche analog horror, even throwing in reference to the Backrooms Backdoors. Yeah, seeing dead bodies is creepy, especially when things match the realism of the emulated hardware era, but that was it. And I totally called the final jumpscare at the end. If the thing is intelligent as the tapes claim, instead of jumping at the camera, why not have it toy with the camera directly and provide its version of a "I know you know I'm being watched"? Like getting up close to the camera, yanking it off the wall in such a way that it's still able to provide a feed, and as it rolls it around in its hands, makes some meanacing noises, perhaps even some animalistic noises resembling contempt.
