As an experience, this game gives a lot of choice to the player. Why fight every monster when you can jump and levitate over all of them? Only when I read the GDD did I understand the theme, but hey, just cuz I made a potion game doesn't mean that's every interpretation of Alchemy. As a fan of games like Noita and unique gameplay mechanics, this game struck a chord with me.
