Basilisk is heavily dependent on its sequel—Basilisk 2000—to stand as an experience.
This game sets the foundation for its sister game, and for that reason it's important to play. Despite that, though, Basilisk is lacking on its own. It has just enough to intrigue, but too little to answer the questions it posits. Also the movement speed is painful.
