If you have Odyssey of Gianna, this is a great dlc. To install, you need v4.0 of OoD, take the .rar files, unzip it, then take the Venture Forth .rar file, unzip it to the same place the v4.0 .rar file is, not the folder created by its unzipping, then click and drag the folders created by the dlc's file and put them in the Odyssey of Gianna folder aforementioned. This will copy over the files, and will inform you that there are duplicate files in the folder already; tell it to replace/overwrite those files, if done this way it will perfectly install the dlc. Do not extract to the folder itself, as while it will see the new dlc files (MTool even detects the new switches, common events, new states and actor), it will not actually have them in the game nor will the title menu change as Vhiel says
Now that we have the game, it is great. What good can be said about Odyssey of Gianna's base game is here with additional improvements and extras. New statuses, a new lategame party member, new bad ends, a new final ending, conversations with the party through progression, new classes, and new enemies make this good, especially worth the price.
Valua offers some neat new statuses and events, including a mannequin tf to gain new outfits that work similarly to the Server status in how it's handled, along with a Winetap status and fellicia status. A new mage academy has expanded three of the statuses in the game and added three more, upgrading stiffening/petrified along with ignition and soulfreeze whilst adding balloon, leak, and overload. The academy also has the student status linked to it.
Up in the far north is Urverk and the Northern Underground, with a freezing tundra along with a location that contains toy soldier shell and windup toy enemies. Hard to say if the windups do much, but with them in the encounter the shells like to trap party members inside, turning them into toy soldier enemies. The clockwork dragon is weird, feeling kinda like a superboss but needed for progression there, but also not being as threatening as it seems weirdly.
There's also the arachne status, which can be gained by fighting an arachne boss fight while mini to get a tome that allows a cocooned party member to become the new arachne class.
Haven't explored this all fully yet, but is very nice. My only complaints is the mannequin tf feels limited; the clothing doesn't change the party member's looks if they equip it after buying them, and so far the status is tied to the shopkeep with it, making it non-threatening. The toy statuses feel a bit lacking too, with the windups seemingly not trying to apply it, and the soldier shells seeming to not do much more beyond trap the party member during the battle. There is a lot of potential with these to make them really enjoyable, like the toy statuses can be dangerous to have many of, or cause different encounters like having a unique bad end encounter with the Watchmaker if you free them whilst everyone is a windup toy and/or toy soldier. The clockwork dragon could also have had skills to apply these statuses during its fight, making the battle more daunting. I do like the other parts I see, maybe with a sequel more additions to content like the clowns, the bimbo status, cows, the egyptian themed ones, and others could be explored.
