This game is gorgeous! The character designs, background illustrations, and 3D models were all expertly crafted with attention to detail. I especially like the lighting effects in both the vn backgrounds and 3D scenes. Beautiful! The GUI, by comparison, felt a little on the plain side, but it gets the job done and wasn't distracting from all the other visuals, which I feel is more important. The music complimented the tones, mood, and themes of the story as well.
The gameplay elements of the 3D scenes were a nice touch and something I don't see too often in VNs. This one feels unique, making for a memorable experience. I like the idea of using the "dream magic" to switch back and forth between the vn and puzzle elements of the story. While I wouldn't really consider myself much of a puzzle person, I did enjoy the ones that were present to some degree. Honestly I'm quite bad at puzzles, but I feel the difficulty level of these were right on point. Neither too easy nor too challenging, for me anyway. Which I'm glad, as I would've hate to have missed out on the story due to my lack of skill. ^^;
As for the story itself, I enjoyed it overall. It was well paced and nicely structured all throughout. I appreciate how easy it was for me to see all three routes in one playthrough. A lot of times I say to myself "I'll go back and play the other routes", but never manage to find the time, so this was a blessing for a busy gamer like myself. The romance was (generally speaking) sweet. Despite the brothers' (failed) attempt at deceiving the MC, I thought they were all likable characters and I enjoyed getting to know them. I like the mystery aspects as well, though I feel some of my questions were left unresolved by the end, such as the MC's missing mother. I'd like to know more about the Beaumont family history as well. How long have they been around? How did they become vampires? Etc. Though, considering this was all done in a month, I found the amount that was present to be quite impressive and praiseworthy.
The brothers were nicely fleshed out with distinct personalities and I loved them all, even Roderick's mischievousness. Although I think Sebastian was my favorite if I had to choose just one. However, I do think the MC's personality was a little inconsistent, or rather, not fully present at times. For example, when Alexander called her a "blood bank", she didn't react at all. But there were also moments that she stood up for herself, specifically when dealing with Roderick trying to manipulate her, which made me like her more as a character, even if her personality wasn't as consistently showing as the brothers' were.
For the purpose of constructive criticism, most of my complaints were minor ones. Sometimes I had issues with the controls (I was using a controller). I think the mouse & keyboard worked better, I just prefer using a controller even if it was a little uncooperative at times. For example, I couldn't figure out how to select the tabs on the journal (without using a mouse). Also during the moving boxes puzzle, sometimes it would move them without me pressing any button.
Additionally I feel the writing could benefit from some editing. Most commonly I came across some odd phrases and swapping between past and present tense in the narration. There were also some moments where the MC appeared to be talking to herself that I think would've been better served as narration instead. However, I feel these minor issues are perfectly understandable given the amount that was done in such a short time.
Thank you devs for making such a lovely game. I sincerely enjoyed playing. I'd love to see more of the characters and story in the future to help satisfy my curiosity. However, all that was present was really well written and developed I thought. This was truly a treasure and I simply adored it.
