G123u rated Occult Case Files: Case One - Demo

G123u rated a game 2 years ago
A downloadable game for Windows.

This was such a fantastic game demo, I absolutely fell in love! Occult Case Files does a great job of mimicking old style Point-and-Click adventure games without retaining much of the obscure leaps of logic. The pixel art is so charming and plays into the atmosphere of the game perfectly, and I really liked the scene transitions somehow. The audio is more on the subtle side, which I also appreciated, as it was mellow enough to leave me to my own thoughts as I immersed in the game world.

My one complaint is that some of the sliding doors are a bit difficult to distinguish from the rest of the walls. As a result, I remember getting stuck in the main hallway and randomly interacting until "Oh! That's supposed to be a door, I didn't notice." This may be a one-off case as I admittedly do have very poor eyesight, but I felt it might as well be mentioned nevertheless.

All in all, this was a very enjoyable demo and I am very much looking forward to the release of the full game - and any potential future cases!
