A downloadable game for Windows.

A fun. free, fully fledged first person shooter with a retro wave aesthetic that is sure to grab the attention of any fan of the genre

The art direction is very strong and has a nice 1980s pastel look. Weapon and enemy models are nicely constructed and made me think of Renegade Sector's games which have a similarly retro style.

Sound design is decent. Weapons lack a little heft in the audio department, but this isn't supposed to be a deep military sim, just a fun little wave based arena shooter. Music is pretty chill for an FPS, but I did dig the vibes.

Tutorials are common, and help explain every new weapon, mechanic, and enemy type as they are discovered in the game. This can be turned off from a fairly broad in-game settings menu, but only really battle hardened folk should skip out.

The minute to minute action reminded me of DOOM Eternal. The weapons have similar secondary functions and once you acquire the grapple upgrade for the double barrel shotgun, it's hard not to draw comparisons.

Similarly the gameplay loop borrows elements from id Software's latest title. Shoot weaker enemies for supplies, switch weapons for maximum effectiveness against specific enemy classes, and always stay in the fun zone.

Difficulty spikes are regular, and I finally noped out after sinking a truly heroic amount of time into trying to beat the world 5-5 boss.

I want to hate the game for being so compelling, and by extension, the developer, for causing me to pour so much a day into his work, but you know what, I'm an adult and I had a good time.

Should probably carry some kind of health warning, or like an in game timer that occasionally pops up on screen to remind you what real life events you are currently ignoring. WARNING: You are about to miss your second meal today, do you wish to continue playing? Y / N.

Okay then, I'll have just one more go...
