Viy rated Intelligent Design: An Evolutionary Sandbox

Viy rated a game 2 years ago
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux.

Not good. The visuals are ridiculously simple, and the sound is repetitive. The gameplay very quickly gets tiring, since the life cycle mechanic seems self-limiting. Most plants I placed would die immediately, and any time a species showed up that was adapted well enough to start spreading, they would spontaneously combust and be wiped off the map. Why is that a thing? This meant I could never have a plant population big enough to support herbivores, and carnivores were a pipe dream. On top of that, the species customization panel doesn't say anything about what the settings actually do, so it was never clear which settings would help in what situation.
