hi! i wish i could leave a longer review, but my brain isn't really cooperating with me right now. i can at least confidently say i was left weeping with actual real tears rolling down my cheeks (but like in a good way) after i finished reading through the main pdf file, though!
i think you captured the flawed, human nature of superheroes juxtaposed with what their roles ask of them very well. there's something so deliciously heartbreaking about the concept of people who have dedicated themselves to this vow of good and justice before being subsequently outcast by the very people they sworn to protect through reverence and praise, turning out to be so terribly human it hurts.
humans are flawed and they are selfish. no paragon of idealistic virtue is human; no human is a paragon of idealistic virtue.
but the question begs to be asked: if there's even the slightest chance pretending to be can save just one life, then isn't it worth the cost?
isn't saving people what you're meant to do? isn't saving people what you've dedicated your life to? isn't saving people all you'll ever be good for?
you've stepped into the role so many times that it feels wrong for you to step outside it ever again.
