PublicLewdness rated The Turing Test

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The Turing Test does a great job at building up tension and atmosphere. It was pretty creepy at times. It could have used more depth in the narrative though. Not much info is given about what is going on aside from a brief epilogue. One thing I was impressed at initially was that I expected the game to only provide me premade responses but was actually allowing me to type responses. This quickly faded as I realized my responses didn't change anything and other times it didn't even accept my response and did type a premade response. The graphics are what they are. PS1 style graphics will never wow me but I don't expect them to and others like the style so I won't be too harsh. The music was well done.

I played The Turing Test on Linux. It never crashed and I didn't notice any bugs. There are no graphics options to tweak. There is no save system but it is a short game. The performance was great although I would expect this given the graphical detail.

Graphics Engine: Godot

VRAM Usage: 1223-1227 MB

CPU Usage: 1-2 %

Overall The Turing Test is a decent and spooky way to spend the twelve minutes it took me to finish. It makes me wonder what the developer could do with a proper budget more manpower as they have a good creative vision. It didn't wow me but was solid and I would recommend for horror fans.
