still no 3D graphics despite the game occuring in 3 dimensions, still no non-grid-bound 2D graphics (zero reason for this besides the old text-graphics rendering code) so you still can't even smoothly pan the camera in sub-grid increments, still dogshit mouse AND keyboard controls, still no actual modding API (let alone an open source codebase for a 17-year-old game), still no community mod platform so Steam has become the walled garden for all mods, the UI is still absolutely horrific (despite that being the ONLY thing this game has needed since day 1) because they didn't hire talent and just winged it themselves again, the official forums are still the same old PHP nightmare, there's still boneheadedly unintuitive mechanics like crops having seasons underground but not above ground...

Tarn and Zach are just tragically, superlatively incompetent game designers and Dwarf Fortress will unfortunately never reach its potential until they lose autocratic control of the code
