I love the safe mode. I've put many horror games aside to finish "later" because I can't always handle the tension in monster chases/stealthing. The sound and environment did an excellent job giving me the chills on their own. The long, close corridors in the pyramid; the areas that just screamed "stealth area" so much I crouched through them even though I knew there was nothing there; your loud, loud footsteps. It was a great experience.
