I had a lot of fun starting a dwarven hold yesterday. I was pretty surprised at how unique my dungeon was after only 5 squares of exploration and building - it has a fog cave that pours into a large creature's lair, and below that a market of the damned! I'm playing this mostly as a constant drawing prompt and to generate unique abandoned dungeons to use with Pathfinder, so my Delve journey is the history of the place before it fell to ruin/disaster.
For those that prefer to keep a tarot deck around instead, I just use the minor cards minus the Knights, and when the Jokers come around I'll probably add in The Tower and Temperance to serve as those weal and woe cards ;)
My only observation so far is that I play by shuffling the whole deck and drawing one at a time, then will only shuffle again once my deck is exhausted. Some rules seem to suggest you should add the card back immediately and reshuffle, but that would be way too much shuffling for me. This can really change the balance, for example I only have 1 shot every 52 cards at finding a crystal chamber, and that card could potentially be used as part of randomization for another effect making me miss the grid all together. On the other hand, I will also see every card before reshuffling the deck. Just an FYI, as this can really change up how your game plays out.
