Nothing quite like a good tempest-like.  Super easy to jump in and get hooked.  The difficulty curve is gentle too with things picking up speed gradually as you play longer.  I can see this as being a good introduction to the genre for people.  Equally impressive seeing this made in Pico-8.  Doesn't really do anything too unique, but that doesn't mean it's not a solid and fun game.
