Random stages really helps liberate Dig Dug from what could feel like an oppressive succession of fixed stages; also, I haven't hit that deadly thing Dig Dug has where it stacks multiple monsters exactly on top of each other, so you go into a cave with what you think is just one monster, shoot it, and a second monster that was exactly overlapping it leaps forward and kills you--hasn't happened to me in Revival! : _) You can even change difficulty level and increase the maximum number of monsters allowed per stage from 8 to 10 or 12--which gets MENTAL! = D
