First the positives: the upfront fiction is excellent and really sells the mood and genre! The game itself is a good framework for even newer roleplayers to slot their imaginations into, and is comprehensive in helping with how to go about each stage of the game and using the mechanics.
However creepy the atmosphere from the upfront fiction is, the excitement for running a game in the style fades somewhat before you are able to get a handle on the play cycle as getting started requires a susbstantial amount of reading. The game would benefit greatly from an index, a separation of game procedure and advice to reduce the amount of skim-reading needed, and the page references to actually be inserted.
If the reading was less heavy I doubt i would even have noticed the lack of art, the atmosphere created by the fiction is that immersive.
