darebrained rated Dim The Lights - Episodes 1 to 4 by Naughty Cat Entertainment

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.

I really tried to find a reason to give it even 2 stars but "well the developer tried" just can't be enough for that.

So let's go through the cons:

  • One could've just called it "Uncanny Valley - The Game", every character, especially the female ones, look like one of these "realistic" mannequins that are kinda creepy
  • Also every female character looks like the same person just with different hair pieces
  • Writing on the level of bad fan fiction
  • Everything about this game feels arbitrary to the game itself, which I guess is an achievement in a way. Nothing feels "of substance"
  • The main character is such a massive Mary Sue he must be what SAO's Kirito strives to be. Also his visual design
  • Seems to have smut for smut's sake, could've easily been an all ages game, considering the low amount of it and the irrelevance, the sole purpose of it being that the devs can claim it is an "adult VN", which I guess by definition it is

(Identical review as posted under Episode 5, as it is basically the same game with the same issues except being overpriced on top.)
