The controls aren't listed clearly. Once you *do* figure them out...they're clunky. There's really not much backstory, that I can tell (and if there is, I can't be bothered—the effort to get to it is NOT worth the outcome). Several of the characters, including Veronikka herself, are extremely rude. I can't say there's much about this that could be considered a redeeming quality, except for the occasional joke or reference.
