The author goes to great lengths to play a lot of different types of games, which is really rare. But they spend so much time/ink reviewing bigger games from known publishers and not a lot of time on smaller projects from solo devs (which I what I was hoping to find). Also those longer reviewers are kind of meandering with lots of non sequiturs about their personal experience. So... not a lot of analysis, just kind of diarist amateurish blogging (which is fine, but again not what I expected).
The writing on smaller games is not much a review, but rather a summary of what the game is and who the intended audience is. Was hoping for more. The formatting is pretty simple and not very engaging... so for longer reviews it starts to feel like a book report.
If you're hunting for lesser known games give this a look, maybe you'll find something, but skip the longer reviews.
