Creator Day is a special 24-hour event where itch.io waives its platform fee on all sales across the site. During Creator Day, creators receive 100% of sales (after taxes and payment processor fees) instead of the usual revenue share.
Since the first Creator Day on May 14, 2021, this has become a regular recurring event on itch.io, happening several times throughout the year. It’s our way of giving back to the creator community that makes itch.io what it is.
Creator Day runs for exactly 24 hours, typically from midnight to midnight Pacific Time (8am to 8am UTC). During this period:
Creator Day typically occurs on Fridays and often coincides with major sales events like Black Friday or seasonal promotions.
Creator Day is a great opportunity to promote your work and reach new audiences. Here are some ways to make the most of it:
Remember: you don’t need to change any account settings to participate. Everything happens automatically, and your normal revenue share settings will be restored once the event ends.
If you’ve been thinking about picking up a game, asset pack, or other project from your favorite creator, Creator Day is an excellent time to do it. Your purchase has maximum impact during these 24 hours, with creators receiving the largest possible portion of each sale.
While it’s always a good time to support creators on itch.io, Creator Day makes it just a little more special.
