How to separately sell Steam key & Direct Download for the same game ?

Just what the title says.

I want users to be able to choose whether they want to buy steam key or download the game from Itchio.

I don't want a buyer to receive the game and Steam key at the same time, thats basically giving out 2 games instead of one.

I don’t want a buyer to receive the game and Steam key at the same time, thats basically giving out 2 games instead of one.

Given that a user can technically download the game from Itch.io multiple times, is giving Steam keys really like giving out 2 games?

The point is, that we want to offer a steam for people who still would prefer to have a game on Steam, but want to buy it cheaper. But on the other hand, giving Steam key to someone who don't have Steam and will only play it no-steam is pointless.

I think the way it works now, only if someone requests a steam key they will get one, and not everyone, although I’m not 100% sure.

Even though it’s a personal opinion, I don’t think it’s a good idea to charge separately for 2 versions of your game.

I can either set the purchase to include the Steam key or not, it's not up to a user sadly.

Please don't. Steam keys are meant to be given away with the game, not sold by themselves. It's a convenience to the player, so they don't have to buy the game twice. That's the whole point.

well, okay, thanks for the answer

and by the way, I see you are a moderator, I have one request for Itch io staff but they don't respond, I want to transfer our game from my account to the company acccount :)

Support is the proper channel for that, but I've let an admin know of the delay.

thanks :)
