Cover Image is wrong...

A topic by CommonPepe created Jun 23, 2020 Views: 389 Replies: 4

I tried a cover image for my first game... Didn't like it....

So I changed it... Like it!

But everywhere I post a link, I get that FIRST ugly picture... It's been a couple of days.

What's up?

Admin

Can you tell give me a specific example of where you post it and you see the wrong thing?

Thanks

Sure :-)

I paste the link to my game to social media, like face-book or minds, or to friends on Skype, and my OLD cover picture appears automatically... This ALSO occurs when THEY spread my Link in similar fashions... Rather embarrassing as you might imagine.

That’s something that’s out of our control. Those platforms tend to cache the images they download our servers for an extended period of time. You may be able to find a way to request those URLs to be purged from their cache using their developer tools.

Hope that helps

Hey man, I don't wanna waste your time, but I just wanna follow up on this.

I was fiddling around on my profile, getting to know the interface, when I saw a setting for "promo-image". This was set to the exact picture I didn't like, the first one I uploaded... So appearantly, this image is auto-set when you FIRST set your cover image, but not updated when you change your cover image. Kind of a trap I would say, as you would expect the reverse, from reading the available tool-tip.

Just an fyi. Thanks, and see you out there :-)
