I'm having troubles with butler. Have no idea what I'm doing wrong so I decided to post pictures detailing the steps I do.

Step One

Firs I go to find my games update. I go into the folder Trumptalesupdates

Then I go to folder build1

ta da found my games update file
I open up properties and copy the location and the update file name
I copy my username as well

Lastly I copy trump-tales from the URL
Then I fire up notepad and paste everything in their
I copy everything from notepad, go into CMD, find butler,  login and then paste.  I'm then greeted by this message that it can't find the file specified, what did I do wrong?

Admin

You can try typing dir D:\Trumtalesupdates\build1 to see what the cmd.exe sees in that directory. It might help point you in the right direction.

Thank you

Admin

Did you figure out what the problem was? I’m curious to know so I can help others in the future if they have a similar issue. Thanks

unfortunately no. I typed dir D:\Trumtalesupdates\build1 and I get an api error 400 and a  /wharf/builds: invalid target error

Hey boss I got something new. I decided to type out the entire line with the "dir" in it. This time I get a "parameter format not correct"

type exactly what I said and nothing else:

dir D:\Trumtalesupdates\build1

dir is a Windows command that shows what files are in a directory, it has nothing to do with butler. It is not an argument to butler.

Windows will tell you what files exist in that directory (if it exists), and then you can use that to find the path to the file you’re trying to upload

I bring good news.

so I enter your line in CMD and it shows everything and apparently the updates file name is Trumptales.zip.zip and not Trumptales.zip(something that Properties menu didn't show). So once I enter Trumptales.zip.zip into the butler push line it uploads everything.

Thank you very much leafo.

How to fix this...?

butler push directory darkreaperstudio/mygame:win

∙ For channel `win`: pushing first build

walking directory to push: open directory: The system cannot find the file specified.
