I tried giving it a go just now, and it didn't work for me either (although I had never tried installing that specific mod, so I don't know if it used to work correctly before the latest update). My guess is that the mod's files are outdated and aren't compatible with the latest beta, although it could be that the devs just changed the way the game handles mod installation.

This is for PC, let me know if you're on a Mac

1. You need to delete everything in this folder C:\Users\*username*\AppData\LocalLow\Glitch Pitch\Idol Manager\data\cache\portraits

2. This is how your Mods folder should look like:

Also, make sure to delete everything in cache\portraits again before playing without the mod

I will likely make it more convenient in the future, but for now you have to:

1. Delete everything in ~/Library/Application Support/Glitch Pitch/Idol Manager/data/cache/portraits

2. Find the game .app -> right click -> Show Package Content
Copy "Default" and "idolskins1.0" into Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/Mods/

I’m playing on Windows and can’t find that stuff on the folder for Idol Manager and am too scared to try and do anything else just in case I might break something

I can not install, the folder that was said to delete does not exist

The cache folder you have to delete (which is located in your %appdata% folder) will only exist if you've already played the game before.  This is different from the actual mod folder (which is located wherever you installed the game to).  If you just got the game for the first time, you may not have to delete anything.

If you need to delete your cache (that is, if you've already played the game before installing the mod), and you are having trouble locating the %appdata% cache folder, can you post a screenshot of where it is that you're looking?
