Embedding Decker in a Website?

Is it possible to embed Decker, set to open a particular deck, in a web page? I tried simply replicating the structure and content of the HTML export inside an existing web page, but it did not load the deck, and seemed kind of broken.

Searching for this question reveals a lot of the opposite, like this thread, this thread, and this blog post. I’m not looking to put HTML into my deck, but rather the other way around; I want Decker to appear in the middle of another web page.

Relatedly, is it possible to get Decker to not upscale (that is, rather than the default by 2x)? This would help it fit on the page.

Thanks!

Yes it's totally possible to put a deck on a webpage and yep you can have it without upscaling!

The trick would be to put the .html version of your Decker project inside of an appropriately sized iframe on the page.

This is how itch.io presents most of the Decker projects uploaded here on the site and as a silly bonus example: here's a tiny deck in an iframe on a plain webpage.

If the iframe matches the size of the deck then it should stay at that (1x) size.

Does this help?

Thanks! I did not want to use an iframe (perhaps ill-advisedly), so I did some shenanigans: https://nora.codes/post/infrastructure-photography-manifesto-and-decker-in-html/

However, based on the issues I encountered, an iframe is probably a better idea. Thanks!

Oooh! Thanks for documenting your shenanigans! And your project is lovely, thank you for sharing.
