Hi, I don’t think I’ve seen info on how the “featured section” is curated (I may have missed something though). Is there a form to fill or a person to contact if I think one of my game deserve a featuring ? Or is it left to the whim of the moderation team to stumble onto the right game? I would understand the second option for fear of spam, but it cost nothing to ask.

As explained in lots and lots of topics, because people ask all the time, featured games are hand-picked by itch.io staff. You can try to ping one of the official accounts on social media with a link to your game, but there's no guarantee. You should probably focus on having an attractive game page, devlogs and so on, as well as being active in the community so that people realize you exist.
