Hi Itch mods,
I'm talking about the filesize limit once the browser-playable game is uploaded, previewed, and your system decompresses it when it first runs.
I've got a game that's hitting this limit in which I had to remove some content just for it to fit in, but I fear I'll hit it soon. This was fine until the news came out that Google is going to require devs to be certified before their Android apps can be installed even if the apps are not in their Play Store. A lot of our downloads is the Android version of our game, and I have no plans on going through Google's dev console just for me to be able to distribute versions of games I put out for free. So with Google effectively blocking access to self-published games outside the Play Store starting 2026, I figured the only way our web games are going to get played in mobile devices like iOS/iPad and Androids going forward will have to be through sites like Itch as a browser-playable game. Newgrounds has a 3GB limit afaik.
May I kindly ask the Itch team to please consider this, considering the above development happening on Android installs?
