I can't change game folder (Thunderstore)

Anyone have ideas on why this happens?

Could you explain your process? Or better, can you screenshot where the directory of the game is? The more details, the more I can try to help.

I usually extract game files into a folder that I made for the game. It worked when I had the 0.8.2b version but then the game got accidentally deleted when I was cleaning unnecessary files off of my PC. I had to download the 0.8.2c version, and now thunderstore just will not let me change the game folder.

Can you show me a screenshot of the game's directory?

okay so it somehow managed to run the game despite me not changing the game folder, I don't know how that even happened, but here's the screenshot anyway.

You have the directory set correctly. It would appear you have the same issue I did a while back. You're not doing anything wrong, but it's the mods that are causing the problem.

Some mods haven't been updated for this new version and whatnot. Check the date on when the latest update came out, then check the dates for your mods. Anything before will probably just crash you. Use up-to-date mods, and see if that fixes your issue. It fixed it for me.

If that doesn't fix it, I will try to further research your error, and see what I can find.

Hate to be this guy, but I'm having the same problem and haven't figured out how to fix it. I downloaded the game, extracted it into downloads, and when I try to select the exe when setting the launch location in thunderstore I get this error

Try putting it in another location, downloads "folder" is not a great place to store games and such. Make sure it's on the same drive as thunderstore too just to be safe.

I found a fix for this, I moved the main folder from downloads to my C drive, then reinstalled Thunderstore. Not sure which one of these was the main fix but its working now so idrc
