Game idea “Complete This!” – an endless encyclopedic collecting game

Hi everyone, I have an idea for a game called “Complete This!” It’s a game/encyclopedia where players collect every type of real-world object, starting from simple things like dishes or cups, up to rarer or more abstract items like historical relics, songs, or concepts.

Each object would have a detailed description, curiosities, and belong to a thematic category (e.g., household items, nature, culture, technology). The game would feature endless progression, with regular updates adding new sets of objects, and social components like sharing collections or small creative competitions.

The concept would follow a Game as a Service model to keep player interest alive over time.

I’m curious to hear what you think, how it could be improved, or if you know similar projects. I don’t have the skills to develop it myself, I just want feedback on the idea.

Thanks for your time,

Orion

The game would feature endless progression, with regular updates adding new sets of objects, and social components like sharing collections or small creative competitions.

This part is very concerning. Why do you want game with endless progression? are you willing to update game regularly?

That reminds me of more essential aspect, what's so fun about collecting things? what is the reward for collecting an object? a whole set?
