Game Ideas and help building them

I have a few game Idea's that I would highly appreciate putting together. I am not one to really code and am willing to learn, but until then. I have drawn up pictures of how I would want the game to look and interact. I have the fundamentals can invistion exactly how I want the game to look and run. How the player should be able to interact with the enviroment, objects and enemies. Hit me up if you are interested in helping or would like to add some input. I do not want the concepts post it online but would like to share in a discord

Is it 2D?

The game I am wanting to design is a 3rd person zombie mmo. My biggest pet peave with many mmo's and zombie games is that they can be to complex or and not user friendly and they dive to deep on injuries and such. I have drawn up concept art and have a layout of how I would want the controls to run pc and controller. Sadly I do not know much about coding and I do not know how to design characters or other aspects like textures.

That sounds interesting. I haven't coded many 3D games before, so I don't think I can help develop it, but I have lots of experience with 2D game design, if you want to learn how to code 2D or just learn the basics of game design.

I'd recommend trying Micro Studio if you're interested, but if you want to learn 3D, then just a heads up, Unity probably wouldn't be the best to learn without experience.

What would be best for 3D?

Hm... That's a good question, if I had to say, then probably Roblox from what I know, but if you're wanting a more independent setup, then probably Unreal engine, although I haven't used it before, so I couldn't say for sure.

Sorry ZombieMedic, you can't attract anyone with just vague texts like that. You need to elaborate your ideas better with images and game description.

Maybe you could start with building a GDD (Game Design Document), that details all of your gameplay, mechanics, level design, characters, story, etc and can include technical details like the engine you want to use, the genre, estimated development time, the exact skills youll need (and how many individuals to fill those skills), how you plan to handle marketing/publishing and if you have any kind of compensation plan in place - even if your GDD is just a Google doc, Notion doc or even an update to your post here that just lays out the basic details can help a lot, it doesnt have to be hundreds of pages like standard GDDs tend to be

If you are interested in learning some coding skills as well, maybe you could start with an engine like Unity (imo its the most beginner friendly engine, others might find Godot or GameMaker also good beginner friendly engines) - once you know the engine you want to use, you could study the language that engine supports - for example, with Unity, it uses C#, if you wanted to use Godot, they have their own language called GDScript (some say its similar to Python), and GameMaker also has their own language called GameMakerLanguage (some say its similar to JavaScript) - theres a site called "w3schools" which have great and free courses for beginners on all those languages (C#, JavaScript, Python and more)

And small sidenote: I would maybe try to aim for a short prototype (which is often smaller than a demo), as often even the best ideas on paper play out differently once you get to actually play around with the idea in-engine, and having some kind of video you can record of the basic gameplay can also help for getting others interested in your idea, you can also add watermarks to any art you post online if you might be worried about theft - best of luck with the project!

Thank you for the input and I will consider unity. I am looking for a 3rd person open world game

No problem - both Unity (C#) and Godot (GDScript) can do 3D, though Unity is probably more common for that, also keep in mind that open world and MMO are 2 of the most challenging genres in the industry to make, even for AAA studios, so you could be looking at a multi-year development, and with multiplayer/online there is often a financial cost for servers - if all those sound like non-problems, then im sure youll learn a lot from the experience

Sweet. Gives me a  challenge to look forward to.

If I may, you say you're willing to share your concepts on Discord only, but you don't tell anyone your Discord username, so they can't contact you on Discord, and from my experience so far, it seems like people prefer it when the poster gives their username, not the replyer. so you might get a lot more attention if you give people your Discord name

Can I help, Im a programmer, and please tell me ur idea and I can help

You got discord? I am looking to create a multiplayer mmo zombie survival game. With cartoonie graphics similar to the legend of zelda breathe of the wild. gameplay similar to  state of decay 2 and the mobile app last day on earth. Along with a skill tree and building system. It is gonna take quite a bit of time but rn I am drawing up drafts of concept art of what I would want it to look like and I am drawing up the controls because my biggest pet peave with many games is the controls are not user friendly and I am a army medic who is a big fan of simplicity, but I love difficult and challenging enemies. In order to start, I believe that the controls, mobility and attack styles would be the start. Unity is the engine I am looking to utilize but if there is a better option let me know.

yeah bro sry for the late response, here's my discord my username is riaan_68

I unfortunately am not a programmer nor an artist. But if you do manage to assemble or find a team, I'd love to bring my voice acting to the table for any game you may want to make!
