Joystick or controller for pc browser web site games

What joysticks or controllers would work on a windows 10/11 pc on browser web site games?  Can someone please offer me products or advise me where to go.  Many are usb corded, wireless or bluetooth and say wiindows pc but none claim to work in a browser.  Keyboards are too slow for me.  I want the speed of the old joysticks I used to use.

I doubt any controller is going to be labeled as "ready for web browsers", but any generic should work. I've had a ThrustMaster Dual Analog 4 for many years now, and it's been great.

I don't know, and please make your own topic instead of hijacking another conversation.

Thank you.  None  of the products will answer this question.  I order everything online and it is a hassle  to return things.  I will have to take a chance.  I want it to be a simple plug and play and I fear it will get complicated with me having to map it out.

None of them will because drivers and compatibility work at the operating system level, not at the level of an application within the OS.

The gamepad must work on your OS first, and then other factors depend on it, such as whether or not a web game uses said gamepad.

Not all games support gamepads. The first thing you'd have to figurate is whether the game you want to play supports joysticks, and then, which one do they recommend?

Basically, there are three main types of drivers.

Xinput -> Xbox controllers; these are the vast majority and tend to be the most compatible.

Dinput -> An older standard but still in use; I've seen it quite a bit on Android.

3party -> Anything that doesn't fit the previous two and requires a driver from the manufacturer, such as PS4 drivers. These tend to be the least compatible.

My personal recommendation is the Logitech F310 or an 8-bit BT, as you can usually configure whether they work as X-input or D-input, and that way you can cover almost all games.

NOTE: Please note that not all games support gamepads.

Thank you for your detailed answer.  I have found joysticks and controller pads that work on windows.  These are retro games from the 80's.  Pacman, Space Invaders, Frogger, Donkey Kong all worked on the original joysticks.  Perhaps there was a controller with the ability to go vertical, horizontal and make turns.  I do not know whether comparable joysticks or controllers will replace my keyboard keys.
https://www.free80sarcade.com/spaceinvaders.php#google_vignette is a wonderful site but does not answer any of these questions or have any links to contact them to ask questions.  I followed them to Facebook but do not get an answer.  There is no one to recommend anything unfortunately,

I started writing this before I investigated all you said fully.  I think you solved my problems after months of no answers anywhere and no one would reply.  The X and D driver compatibility are what ensures me the controller takes the place of my keyboard and mouse.  Your advice of the F310 is on point.  I looked further and i can get it wireless with the F710.  I just wish they combined both capability in one device.  Replacing batteries is not ideal when everything charges thru usb but I am so grateful I have this answer!

I do not know if I will like the F310 analog sticks being operated with only a thumb when I loved the joystick full hand control.

I cannot thank you enough!!!  This recent search has taken me many fruitless months.  Before that it was 30+ years wanting my Pacman, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders etc back.

Loads of gratitude,
Dave
