Jam not indexed - already published, realized cover image not set. Do we need to re-publish?

If a jam was already published but wasn’t being indexed due to missing a cover image, does the published status or anything else need to get toggled to re-trigger a review? Or will adding that cover image be sufficient?

(It’s been a few hours and doesn’t show up in search results yet)

Thanks!

Background: A participant mentioned that our upcoming jam was not showing up in search.

I didn’t figure it out until just now that we forgot to set the cover image and that is probably what was preventing it from being indexed.

The Jam has already been set to published and had all it’s other criteria filled out for a few weeks now.

No, as explained in lots an lots of topics, all jams have to be seen by itch.io staff first, and not all appear in the calendar. If you keep turning it on and off again all you do is lose your place in the queue. Please wait.

Thanks for the reply. We haven’t turned the jam on or off at all, that is why I made this post. :)

With regard to the mechanics of the jam indexing review queue - I haven’t actually seen the specifics explained in the docs or in discussions so far.

As in, what triggers a jam to get inserted (or re-inserted) into the queue, or flagged as ready to be reviewed:

  • Is a jam only inserted into the queue when a change is made such that all the criteria become met?
  • Or is a jam inserted when it is set to published but stays in there holding a spot waiting until all the other criteria are met (upon which it will then be triggered for review)?

I don't know. If it takes much longer, please read the rules of this category. They tell you what to try next.

Thank you!
