Hello there, nice asset! qq does it include the character base files so I can expand upon it? Also does this inlude any files at all or just the exe?

Developer

it’s just the exe, but the tool exports the sprite sheet files of the characters you create.

Being able to expand upon the current assets and even using completely custom assets is on the roadmap and what we’re currently working on!

amazing work keep it up! so Im guess I could export only the clothing layer? the thing is I need the accesories to be in different layers so I can customize in game. :)

Developer

Thanks! We’ve discussed this possibility before and we’re gonna plan on adding it as an export option in our next update!

perfect I'll follow your progress and buy it ASAP.

Developer

Exporting per layer will be releasing on June 24th in a few days!

I noticed that the long back hair sprite does not seem to render specially for right facing sprites on the Idle animation sheet. Right facing sprites also seems to render incorrectly for walking with this option too but more in a something is in the wrong place rather than outright missing kind of way.

Other than that great tool so far. Looking forward to future development.

Thanks for pointing this out! I have no idea how that happened but I'll get that fixed.

Thanks for the bug report! We've just put out a minor update to fix this!

https://sleeping-robot-games.itch.io/sprite-sheet-creator/devlog/952599/hotfix-v...

I am experiencing a... very strange update. Have been enjoying using the tool so far on my PC. However, I am going on a trip so I decided to copy all the programs I'm using over to my laptop so that I can continue using them while away.

For some reason, the program simply refuses to open on my laptop. I click the button to open it, my cursor has a little loading wheel next to it for a second, and then nothing happens. Not sure if there's something wrong with the Application or my laptop.

Developer

Sorry to hear that! Do you mind giving any details on the laptop specs like OS, version, etc?

My laptop is a Yoga 7, using Windows 11 version 23H2. I also have 16GB of RAM but I doubt that's the issue.

(Whoops, forgot to reply. Sorry about that!)

Nothing comes to mind as a quick fix since we haven’t experienced this before but we’re happy to troubleshoot with you! Email us at support@sleepingrobotgames.com or join our discord!

Hi! Just letting you know the “Bun” hairstyle for the back specifically doesn’t look right when you view the sprite from the back view. Makes it look like it’s on their forehead. I’m just letting you know! I haven’t tested any of the other hairstyles.

Regardless I just want to say this is an amazing tool you’ve made!

Developer

Thanks for the report and feedback! We'll double check the hair sprites and then make an update soon with fixes!

Developer

Thanks for pointing that out! I think what you are seeing is the Side : 009 High Bun hair. The side hair need to be layered underneath the rest of the hair on the back direction but that bun needs to be layered on top! I will see if we can make an exception for its sort order.

Hello! First I want to congrats for all the efforts in this beautiful project, I've been playing and trying to prototype a mini rpg game, the problem I've found is that the Linux version don't let me export the images, the windows version works fine, I'm in debian 13, the export window opened but nothing happens, just wanted to know if is just me, in me meanwhile I will keep using windows version. I really love the characters!!!

Developer

Thank you! We'll do some testing with Linux and get this fixed!
