I wanted to look at new game on itch then I set to free then the screen turn white saying 429 too many request and then I went to the home page picked free then anime then picked a other tag then it did it again is this happening to any one else.

Yes, it happens often lately. I think it's the site's DDoS protection. Wait a moment and try again.

I'm still getting the 429 too many request error

It happens basically any time I search with at least three tags/filters.  Someone else mentioned it here:  https://itch.io/t/4848013/free-in-browser-idle-429-error?before=4#post-12799330
It started roughly a week ago (give or take), and since then search with 3+ tags/filters has basically never worked, even if it's the first time I'm hitting the site that day.  I don't doubt it's a DDoS protection measure, but there seems to have been a configuration change about a week ago that set the threshold to trip even on a fairly standard search.

Will they fix it

im using 2 tags but im still getting it, been like it for about a month and even upgraded my setup and its still doing it

I'm still getting it after a simple refresh after half an hour of not doing *anything*. It's like the 429 is shared between all users, not just me. This is making the desktop app unusable.

I just remove the tag on the thing I'm searching and so far it been ok
