Game Not Appearing in Search Results on Itch.io or Google

Hi there,

Hope you’re doing well! I recently released my game and published it on platforms like Patreon and Itch.io. However, some players have mentioned they can’t find it when searching on Google or Itch.io directly.

After looking into it, I learned the issue was about being indexed. I’ve read the indexing page but don't understand why similar games didn't get but I do: ( I have seen that I should reach out to you to resolve this, so I’m hoping you can help me get my game indexed and appearing in search results.

Thanks so much for your time and assistance, I really appreciate it!

This is my ticket number: 273415

I'll let our admins know, but did you notice the part where you need to wait for a few days first?

(Also it was the weekend, but that's not mentioned in the docs.)

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate the help. While I understand the troublesome side of the moderation, I’m not sure about the passive-aggressive tone. I did see the part about waiting a few days, and I assumed 3-4 days would be enough to reach out. If threads like this are a hassle, it might be helpful to update the guidance to a few weeks -or whatever more suitable for you guys- instead.

That's three days as of right now. You didn't wait three days before notifying support, or posting here. And there's an unofficial FAQ pinned at the top of this category. Edit: as for keeping documentation up to date, the issues with that have been discussed many times on the forum.

Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate the feedback. I understand the challenge of moderation and how many new games are released every day, and I see how threads like this might be a hassle. I’m really sorry if I came across the wrong way, I didn’t mean to be impatient. There might have been a bit of a misunderstanding due to the language barrier, as I use translation tools to help, but I really didn’t want to cause any offense.

You created this platform to support developers like us, and if I didn’t respect what you do, I wouldn’t have chosen to release my game here. I’ve been working on this project for months and am genuinely excited to share it with a wider audience.

I emailed support on the first day after signing up because I thought it was a bug. I didn’t realize this was a more common issue or a procedure, and I’m still learning how things work here. I’m just trying to do what others have done in similar situations to make sure my game shows up properly.

When I first released and didn't become visible but saw some other games that were published after mine get indexed and become visible quickly, which is why I reached out. I contacted a few developers, and they mentioned they didn’t experience this issue, so I wanted to check if there might be something I missed or if my game was overlooked.

This is my first project, and naturally, I want it to be visible as soon as possible. I really don’t mean to be pushy; I just wanted to let you know that there’s a little game in the corner waiting for approval.

Thanks again for your time and support, I really appreciate any guidance you can offer.

It has been 10 days... No news?
