Bugs playing with Cyclops against Apocalypse

Hi,

I've played a game (current version of the app) with Cyclops against Apocalypse and I think I found some bugs:

  • When using Ricochet Beam (https://marvelcdb.com/card/33009) against the villain with an upgrade, I chose to deal the two instances of damage to the villain. It had retaliate and I suffered the retaliate twice. I think it should trigger only once.
  • I defeated the villain when it had an upgrade attached. The scheme The Age of Apocalypse triggered (https://marvelcdb.com/card/45103) and discarded the upgrade. But I think it should only discard attachments, not upgrades.
  • The response of Triage (https://marvelcdb.com/card/45048) did not trigger when the ally entered play
  • The response of Omega Kid (https://marvelcdb.com/card/49013) did not trigger when the ally entered play

Thanks so much in advance!

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for your bug report regarding cards “33009”, “45103b”, “45048”, and “49013” in version 0.5.8.199.

  1. Card “33009”: We are aware that in the current game engine, the retaliate triggers after damage is dealt, rather than at the end of the attack. We can update the code to align with your expectations, but I want to ensure that your understanding of the resolution process is accurate. If you can find any FAQ that addresses this interaction, please share it with us. Additionally, any FAQ related to card “05030” (Melee) would also be helpful.

  2. Card “45103b”: You are correct; upgrade cards should not be discarded.

  3. Cards “45048” and “49013”: We were unable to reproduce these bugs in version 0.5.8.199. In our tests, both cards triggered correctly upon entering play. Could you please provide your save file related to these issues?

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

Thanks so much. This is the save file for my game: https://ufile.io/tslwwjty

About retaliate, I found this ruling (taken from here https://hallofheroeslcg.com/official-ffg-rulings/)

I just wanted to make sure we understand attacks/damage/retaliate If you play “dance of death” and choose to attack the same enemy with retaliate all 3 times, it would trigger retaliate 3 times because each is it’s own separate attack within one card. If you play “ricochet beam” and choose the same enemy with retaliate twice, it will only trigger retaliate once after the attack resolves because it’s a SINGLE attack with multiple instances of damage. But if you play the same “ricochet beam” and choose two different enemies with retaliate, both of those enemies will trigger retaliate after the attack because both enemies are considered to have been attacked from a single attack that has multiple instances of damage. Finally if an attack “divides” it’s damage, any enemy chosen with retaliate that had at least 1 damage assigned will retaliate. Is this all correct?
  • Yes, Dance of Death distinctly makes 3 different attacks, and the target can trigger Retaliate off of each attack.
  • Yes, using all of Ricochet Beam on one target triggers Retaliate just once, and using it against multiple targets allows each enemy to Retaliate.
  • Yes, if an attack divides its damage, each target is considered attacked, and each target can trigger Retaliate if they have it.

Thanks!!!

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for your message and for providing the save file. We have successfully reproduced the bug you reported.

Regarding the response effect of “45048” (Triage), it will miss its timing if you trigger another ability first, such as “33020” (Utopia). In version 0.5.8.199, please ensure to trigger “45048” first. This issue is caused by the local effect system, and we have fixed it in our development version.

As for the “retaliate” ruling, we will implement the rules as outlined in the FAQ you provided.

Additionally, we found that your save file was corrupted. We managed to recover it, but this shouldn’t happen. Did you upload it to ufile yourself, or did you use the Report button in the report menu? This information will help us improve the game.

Thank you!

Thanks so much. I did upload the save file myself. I am not sure how it got corrupted.

Thank you once again.

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for your response. Since you uploaded the save file yourself, we won’t be investigating the corruption issue further on our end.

If you have any other questions or encounter any more issues, feel free to reach out.

Thanks again for your understanding!

Perfect, thank you
