#notGDC staying home to work on Code Romantic, our educational visual novel

We love GDC, and we love showing off our game, Code Romantic, at game events! But last year we noticed that we put so much energy into planning booths and travel that it took time away from working on the game. So this year we didn't apply for any events. Our time is our most valuable commodity, and we need to focus on finishing what we started!

Code Romantic is a visual novel that teaches you how to code in C#. No prior experience necessary! You'll play through a post-apocalyptic storyline starring Mina Lovelace, a shy university dropout that's been drafted into the Human Defense Department in a war against the @ware, sentient machines that are fighting against humanity!

Thanks to itch.io, we've been able to ship a demo with six chapters that you can play for free right now:

The support for our demo has been so encouraging, and we are glad to be part of the itch.io community. We're so glad that our unusual game ideas are embraced here, and look forward to finishing the rest of the game and releasing soon!

I agree that time is the most valuable thing. I'm guilty of going to as few events as possible. I've added you to the Not seen at GDC collection on the homepage.

Thanks! Keep up the awesome work at itch.io, we love it here! :)
