Taking game down and posting a year later

If I take a game down ,, and really work on it , like redo levels and textures and post it a year later does it still count as spamming the site ? I worry about that .

After a year, probably not, but why take it down? You can leave it up in the mean time so it gets more popular.

in hindsight it probably wasnt the best idea to take it down . I lost the window to have it tested out by my family on the web as well as the occasional wanderer . Oh well Ill put that on the whiteboard "do not remove, just update". But yea ill get it back up in a year and its gonna look great!

I wonder what your definition of spamming is.

If you redo your page once I would like to have a discussion with anyone that calls that spamming.

Now, if you do that every week or for every update, that would be something different.

But game making is basically art and arists are known to wipe out their canvas from time to time. Depending on how you deleted your project, you might even be able to ask support to restore it. But if there was nothing on it (reviews, purchases and so on), it might be simpler to redo the work in progress page at some point.

Depends how long ago you released your last game.

However, ignoring that for a sec, considering you removed this game from the site an entire year ago and reuploaded it, it likely wouldn't be considered spamming, ESPECIALLY because you basically completely redid the game.

I mean its not up yet ( not the new version ) I have no games at all on my profile , Im rebuilding level 4 and redoing 1,2,3  because I finally learned how to use godot  correctly . . Maybe what ill do it is make a private version for testing and so my kids can play it and just sharpen and sharpen the levels till its ,, I dunno right and then release, probably around July 2025.

That's probably a good idea, getting people you know play it first allows you to get accurate feedback you can work with

accurate feedback

If those people happen to be the target audience for the game and happen to not sugercoat any feedback. ;-)

But yeah, kids will do that, usually.
