Look to buy some sprites... but so many on site and none seem to be what I am looking for?

Hi there... I'm interested in buying some sprites to kick start a hobby project. Basically I want to make a doom (classic) mod, but have some custom monsters. I thought I could go to the art resources section and buy something, as I have seen a lot of art assets on sale there.

The problem is that nothing seems to be "8 Way Sprites" or have attack frames... Is there a keyword I should be searching for to find 8 way sprites instead of just flat 2d ones for platforming or top down or isometric ones?

Doom is a kind of first person thing, so I need sprites that are animated, have 8 directions and some kind of attack and death frames.

I know this is a major ask, but I thought the asset store was exactly for this kind of thing.. is it just to nichie and there are none avaliable?
Thanks!

I'm not very familiar with the kind of assets that can be found on itch.io, but I haven't seen that kind of sprite elsewhere either. That's kind of odd, because Doom mods are still very popular, and there are other 2.5D games that use similar sprites, such as Might & Magic VI. Had to make my own for Electric Rogue and the tech demos that preceded it. Now I'm curious.

You can hire me to draw whatever you want.

I had a quick look and here on itch; I found WhiteNightStudios, who has a few free and paid 8 directional assets. There's also some assets on OpenGameArt.org, but I'm guessing that you'll have to read through what licensing each asset uses (I dunno; never used the site).

It's interesting that there aren't many asset packs... I'm guessing it might be because when you make a retro FPS and mix asset packs; they can easily clash since changes in the pixel art style, colour usage and resolution become very obvious in this kind of game.

Just out of interest, what kind of style, theme, resolution and so on, are you looking for?

You still around? I've got some experience with modding Doom including enemy sprites. I'd  love to see or hear descriptions of some of your concepts.
