Cannot download bought games from itch

Good day.

Tried to check and download a game i had bought long ago. Wanted to get the latest updated version of it.

I used the provided download link i received from itch.io via email but i keep getting an "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" on my browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge). No VPNs used or active. Location Switzerland.

Already got new links sent to me but they don't work either. Same error keeps popping up. This problem consists among the two games i had

bought previously from itch.

Asking here, to know if it is just a problem on my end or my ISP messing up or if the issue is somewhere else.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just tested it and I have no problems downloading, so it doesn't seem to be an Itch server issue, it sounds more like a problem on your end. Maybe an antivirus or firewall is blocking the connection?

If you can, try using another computer and/or another ISP. For example, downloading from your smartphone connected to 4G or 5G.

Thanks for the reply.
Tried a bunch of things now. Such as various SSL settings on Win10, disabling Router and Windows firewall, restarting router, clearing browser and router cache and more but nothing seems to work. Still getting the SSL error on desktop.

Tried it with my phone over 4G and the page works fine, as well the downloads.
I have no idea what changed since last Thursday and Saturday.

Thanks for the help though, guess i'll have to stick to downloading via phone and then file share to my PC.

There are sometimes issues with routing to the Itch file servers.

The alternative download buttons did not work?

Depending on location, it can happen that the routing is bad. You might want to try a vpn. If you have no vpn, try using Opera's built in vpn.

There are some threads that have this topic, but it usually is a whole area that is temporary blocked off. But maybe it is a different issue in your case. I think the error messages were also different.

Maybe a network outage routed traffic over a location that could not access the servers.

Did you try the alternate download button: Downloads not starting?
