Wondering if it's possible to Pack M.U.G.E.N. games with this tool..

There is an application called GameDreamFactory that is capable of running M.U.G.E.N games. on Android at 120FPS from a folder on the internal storage. I would like to know if there is any way to soft-mod the application so that it runs the MUGEN code from the assets folder of the APK. This way M.U.G.E.N games could be packaged for Android without the need for other programs.

i thought i was the only one who knew about that lol

try this version i made, i update it from the same link every week or so.

i love your mod 👍✨

but still can't load game from android_asset

Thanks,

The author did say it could be packaged but i believe it is for windows only

This might not help at all, I don't have any knowledge of the M.U.G.E.N engine or the GameDreamFactory project, and couldn't get much information from trying to google translate the (what I assume are) official pages, but depending on how the *.apk file is set up and what kind of license the software has (I'd really advise looking that up), you might be able to modify the *.apk in a similar way to this suggested method of modifying the Love2D *.apk.
I haven't tried this method, but it doesn't seem too complicated.
There is a good chance that this won't work if the games binary never actually checks the *.apk's internal assets folder (it could be coded to only search for external folders).
If this does happen to work; please do try and find the licensing information for project before releasing anything publicly, I don't wish to get you in trouble.
Sorry if none of this is helpful, but I thought it might be somewhere to start from.

that will not work. the apk seems to be working with .dll files. and its something very unusual in an android application

Suprisingly I can play Mugen games on it on my android phone but you can't full screen though but the performance is amazing in helio g96 if you have snap gen oh boi even better my phone always suffering from ram issue so sometimes it crashed due to the phone memory full and also maybe something with latest Android version we all know some app bugged on newer android but I don't think that's the case since the APK just got updated in 2024 3  30 but maybe my MediaTek chipset?.And this is so much better than playing Mugen on emulator such as exagear, winlator despite the emulator has good performance now but still you are emulating which mean you will not going to get best experience but if you have beast phone then that's okay. Its also has a feature called characters preview similar feature like ikemen where in the select screen menu where we can see characters idle animation or standing animation .There is also a feature where it will load and parse all file for faster loading not recommend for a phone with low ram because all the things that it load will be saved in the ram. Or set to 0 no load at all but slow loading and when in game especially doing specials you going to lag a little bit depends on device but after it loads it no longer lag.The performance is just amazing for my phone managed to enjoy playing some of my favourite Mugen characters at 720p on this shitty phone I can even play 1080 native resolution but due to some stage and screenpack are not for 1080p it's look misaligned. And I'm talking about high quality Mugen characters here 100-300mb of size.

yess. I use that app to load the games I made in my cheap phone.

Just a quick addition; I don't think the above method will work at all.
If you install the app and do not install the additional SD card data, you will get white text on a blue screen displaying where it is searching for the data. It seems that the application binary is hard coded to look specifically for external data on the SD card.
Though there seems to be some projects that allow M.U.G.E.N games to run on Android, they mostly seem to be emulation layers...
I know this probably isn't helpful at all, but I'd consider porting the game into another engine.
Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

That's what I was afraid of, thanks for your reply.
