I feel sorry for that cute little fella in the screen capture you are using as an animated image. The little fellow is so cute looking, and the fact that s/he needs to constantly relive their attempt to get across that chasm, only to die again and again, is rather disheartening. Nonetheless, the mechanics of the game (as you've described them) sounds so awesome. Reminds me of that one conspiracy theory (no offense intended) - what was it called? I think they called it the "Gaia Hypothesis". The theory was that every observation changes some element of the universe, thus making science impossibly fallable on the metaphysical level. So in a way, if this "Gaia Hypothesis" were true (I loathe if it were, as I come from a family filled to the brim with scientists & engineers, and as a game dev, I technically count as one of them) we're playing this game in our waking lives.
