Prevent payment on in-development project, but with demo?

Hello, I'm currently trying to setup my first Itch game page. My goal is to launch the page with a free demo, but the game is still in development and I would like to prevent purchases of it entirely at this time. I've done some research, and it sounds like marking my file as a demo solves that part. The thing I'm unclear on is if I set the project to "No payments", does that achieve what I want? I gather that if you have a free project, people will gain ownership of it in perpetuity by downloading for free. Since my plan is to eventually ask for a payment when the game is finished, I didn't want downloading the demo to grant ownership of the full game later.

Any clarity on the right way to set this up would be appreciated. Thank you.

Downloading a free game does not give you ownership of it.

Donate money for a free game, if it gives you ownership of the game and any updates.

It is best that you decide not to accept payments for the meantime.
