Can the seller see my all personal information when I buy a game from them?

Hello.

First post ever here. I am not very present on this website, so I apologize if this was answered somewhere. I couldn't find a definite answer or may have missed it.

I am just wondering about being prompted to enter all of my personal information when buying a game from a seller that is not from EU. I have to fill the entire form but I wonder does the seller (or I don't know who else) end up seeing everything? From my name to even my address? Because that seems a little extreme - I assume I misunderstood something?

I just seek a little clarification on that. Thanks in advance for any answers.

As far as I can tell the only information I can see from purchases are the buyer's email address and IP address, and the transaction handler (i.e. paypal) and transaction ID

Alright, gotcha. Thanks a bunch for the reply :)

In other words, no billing address, no real names and no other potentially sensible information which might cause problems if recipient developer lost some marbles all of a sudden?

That's quite a relief. Thank you for reintroducing some peace of mind back for me :)

Depends.

Itch has 2 ways to sell.

The first is that you pay Itch directly, the information goes to Itch and it only delivers the basics, such as the email, the transaction ID. If at the time of purchasing, the seller is Itch, then you can rest assured.

The second way is that the game is hosted on Itch, but it is not sold by Itch, otherwise it is sold directly by the owner of the game. At the time of purchase, the seller's name should be different from Itch.

In that case, you are paying the seller directly

Hmm, I see. Thank you for informing me about this. I guess in my case it seems to be the second option... I assume.
