hey I was just in need of help with one thing I've been trying to download the game voices of the void however whenever I try to download it I don't get a zipped file I get a windows media player thing which is usually just called a jumble of letters and numbers with .7z at the end I've checked default apps in settings and looked for answers to why and what I can do but I cant find anything. just wanted to make it clear this isnt about voices in the void specifically though I haven't tried downloading any other games that use .7z

If you’re not sure how to handle extracting and running games downloaded off the internet then we recommend trying out the itch.io app. It can handle automatically extracting most archive types correctly so that you can easily play the game.

Here’s a link to get the app: https://itch.io/app

Otherwise, as No Time To Play, https://7-zip.org/ is the recommended tool to extract those archives.

Those are 7-Zip archives.
