Spoiler text/tags/formatting/whatever you wanna call it

I know I'm not the first one to suggest this (Three other people suggested this by a quick search!) and I likely won't be the last, but it'd be so nice to have spoiler tags. Right now if you want have something hidden as a spoiler you kinda need to sit there and spam new lines or just blabber longer than you really need to just to hide something under "View Rest" and you shouldn't need to do that.

We have the whole kit. Quote, code, bold, italics, strikethrough, lists, etc. The one thing we don't have is one for spoilers and, if I'm being honest here, it's a little frustrating! Especially when giving feedback about the story of a game or reporting bugs to the developer of something, or even just communicating with other users who may be stuck or want to discuss what happened in a game!

Wow, yes! Just had this for a game jam comment where I wanted to explain a spot to someone who got stuck without spoiling it for anybody else. Ended up linking to a youtube with timestamp instead.

Hello, it’s a bit late but well…

I found your question by looking for “itch spoiler” on my favorite search engine, as well as this nice solution Hope this helps you!

Just a tiny bit, but it’s still incredibly handy to know for those (including myself!) who’d appreciate knowing it.

! This is a test spoiler. Edit: Maybe I’m just a big dumb but this one didn’t seem to work.

Spoiler test number two! Text here? [Source for anyone who comes looking](https://gist.github.com/jbsulli/03df3cdce94ee97937ebda0ffef28287 )

Thanks for pointing myself (and others who find this) in the right direction!

Bit clumsy. Especially when editing your post. But apparantly you can use some html here. Interesting.

This is what is done, and as html it works, but how do you enter it in the comment box? By changing your profile settings to use markup.

<details>

<summary>Description</summary>

Hidden Text

</details>

For reasons the link didn’t display properly, so I edited but that’s what the solution I found offered yep! You can actually change “details” to display whatever you want, such as “spoiler”

Sigh. A spoiler option in the regular text formatting would be much more appreciated. It is counterintuitive to need to change your profile settings to do this.

If I enter html, I need a preview box.

Well, no need to tell me, seems like people have been asking it for years :p
