If you have any problems with the game, please report them here!

Well, I downloaded the game, but for some reason, the opening movie won't play, and I can't continue by skipping it or something. So I'm stuck at the law office.

Developer

Okay, that's new! Can you tell me a bit about your computer, i.e. operating system version, etc?

When you tried to leave the law office, did a short cutscene play where Nina complains that she "doesn't even have time for a shower"?

Knowing this will give me an idea of what is triggering and what isn't.

Thanks for letting me know about this.

I have a Windows 10 Home HP Laptop. And yeah Nina complains, but afterwards I got stuck. At first, I thought it was because I was in fullscreen but the browser version got past that part in fullscreen. Do you think I have a corrupt download or something?

Developer

Thanks for providing more info!

I think you may have, yes - could you try deleting your version, then downloading it again and having another try?

To give you a bit of background on how this works, your problem isn't actually that the video isn't playing. After Nina complains, but before the video plays, the game teleports the player to another map file which is just empty, and the video starts playing there. If the video itself had failed, you would've been teleported and arrived at a black screen, and be stuck there.

If you're still walking around the office, it means that the event which teleports you isn't firing off correctly, and that sounds like a "cosmic ray" issue, i.e. a very random, low-chance error. Naturally, as this problem occurred within the first 30 seconds of gameplay, this segment has been played thousands of times at this point by both myself and other users, both in the browser version and the download version, so it's reasonably certain that it doesn't have a problem except where something like file corruption is an issue.

However, I'm not dismissing your problem; it's really useful for people to get in touch with this kind of stuff, so many thanks for doing that. I'm going to look at that event and see if there's anything unique about it that could've caused this kind of issue in rare cases.

Thanks again!

Hi, I got an error message I can't seem to pass. It on Chapter 3 at the second part of the driving tutorial. It says "Error Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'width' of null" and the game crashes after that.  Thanks, great game ,hope to get the conclusion of the story!

Decided to try it again. Got through the section with no problems now. Guess the fourth time is the charm. Weird.

Thanks for posting this! We're aware of this problem; it's performance-related.

It affects people on certain hardware configurations. Some people might see it 1-in-100 times, others see it every time. On the whole only a relatively small number of people ever see it.

Glad you were able to get through! We're still investigating the problem; it's difficult because I never see this on my own computer, so a few people are giving me info about where it occurs for them.

hi,

I just downloaded the game and have run into the following error as soon as I clicked new chapter. I would appreciate your help. I'm running windows 10 pro PC

Developer

Hi there; apologies but I've never seen this error before. You may want to try running the game as an administrator.

Hi I just downloaded the Linux version, but I end up with `Game.exe` and nothing that looks like a linux binary.  Can you please verify that the `LegalEagle_Linux.zip` really has the correct build in it?

Developer

Hi there! Yeah, the Linux version contains a version of the Windows EXE also, because Windows is our reference platform.

The file you're looking for is called "nw" (no extension) that's the executable for Linux.

Sorry, but I cannot run the "nw" file :(
Could you help me about how to run it in my terminal? Thank you >.<

Developer

Sorry but this might require more support than I can easily give here; do you have discord? We have server:

There's a user category on there of "NALE Linux Testers"; I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

Thanks! :)
