This was fun! The animation felt smooth, the controls were great...I do agree with one other post about the need for an aiming mechanic for the flying enemies, but I don't think it's super necessary if you're careful. You gain a weapon you can fire while mid-air later. I thought that was a nice touch, and a good way to not make the gun overpowered ^^

I was expecting it to feature jump-scares, and was thankfully wrong >< I tend to avoid horror games, or games that LOOK like horror games, for that reason. That said, I do enjoy the eeriness of the atmosphere, the enemies were fun, and I look forward to that end boss fight!

I can't pledge to the campaign, due to my bank not allowing any transactions to Kickstarter ._. But I hope this helps raise awareness and promotes the game!

Hi, thanks for the video and for the feedback! I posted this in the other thread to comment on the lack of diagonals or aiming for the gun:

Please remember this is a demo before we've truly started development of the game, so certain features won't make it in due to technical complexity, or won't be as polished as they will be in the final product. The lack of up or diagonal shots is one of these, shooting horizontally is relatively easy to implement, but especially diagonals are actually really difficult to implement.

As for jump scares, I personally hate those too! So while I can't speak for the rest of the team, I'll be arguing against using them anywhere in the game.

i think the jumpscares in the game are when you enter the previous room just to find there are stronger and toughter enemies there.  It would be fun if there was even a boss waiting for you.

P.S. the gun is already overpowered but it cant block spells. Making enemies that gunfire wont work on them would be great as well as enemies that spells won't work on them. 2 extra types of enemies like spectral ones vs psychic ones would be litteraly amazing.

I've had fun playing the demo. This is looking to be an awesome, lovecraftian metroidvania. I especially liked the dragon boss fight. My only complaint is the lack of challenge from standard enemies. Usually all it takes is to wait untill they're on the other side of the room and snipe with the gun for the cultists and cheese with the spirit for the bats. Overall my expectations are high and I'm looking forward to the final release.
