But personally I feel like the movement and animations are way too sluggish and not having a way to aim up or diagonally makes the flying enemies more frustrating than feels necessary.

Yeah the shooting looks and feels really powerful.
I know the demo isn't representative of the final product, but as a non-programmer I wasn't aware that adding the ability to aim diagonally (or up) was that complex.
